On October 18, 1929, the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in England ruled in the women's favor on whether women are "persons" according to the law. As persons, women would have the right to vote and the same legal standing as men. The court ruled that women are indeed people.
The fight is far from over for humans with XX chromosomes.
