About Hula in the Coola Day

DESCRIPTION:
Hula in the Coola is more of a tradition in the Northern Hemisphere and can occur at anytime in January or February, but is traditionally done on the 1st of February.
By this point people are getting tired of the winter weather and its an opportunity to party and bring the tropics inside for a day.
How is it celebrated? Throw a Tahitian or Hawaiian themed party complete with drinks, grass skirts and coconut bras, toast the mid-winter chill and fantasize about warmer climates and times. Yes, it's an excuse for a party and a little bit of wacky fun. We've been unable to figure out where this event originated, but who cares! Get the tequila and the rum ready, little umbrellas and have yourself a blast. After all, winter ends in just 49 more days!
