February 12, 1909 is the anniversary of the creation of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People).
It is the nation's oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots
civil rights organization.
The organization’s objectives include:
1) Ensuring the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority citizens of United States.
2) Eliminating race prejudice.
3) Ending racial discrimination through the democratic processes.
