DESCRIPTION:
Professional Sports Wives Day is set aside each year since 2006 to focus on the unique responsibilities, challenges and roles of the families and friends behind our favorite athletes.
Like everyone, they have the same challenges in marriage and raising children. However they have the additional challenges ranging from celebrity and long periods of absence to careers cut short by injury or death.
Representing active and retired athletes and numbering close to 500,000 in the United States, sports wives remain the foundation to success in the $213 billion professional sports industry. This is a day to honor the women, children, parents and friends behind the professional athletes and all they do to help them succeed.
