Sweet and tart, the cherry pie is one of the most favorite pies baked. There is no specific reason for this day. It simply came about through custom. The closest association might be the legend of George Washington chopping down the cherry tree as his birthday is in two days.
Other than that, not difficult to enjoy Cherry Pie Day. Cut yourself a piece, slather on some vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
