There are over 800 species in the world and they've been with us for over 300,000 years. Each year, marine scientist across the globe celebrate International Cephalopods Awareness Days in October as a teaching tool and a call for marine environmental preservation. This event runs October 8-12 each year and includes World Octopus Day, World Nautilus Night, World Squittleday, World Kraken Day, and World Fossil Day.
