DESCRIPTION:
Today is the anniversary of the ratification of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990.
The ADA protects against discrimination based on disability and expands the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which made discrimination based on race, religion, sex, national origin illegal. Under the ADA, employers are required to provide reasonable accommodations to employees with disabilities, and provide accessibility to public areas for those whom have disabilities.
