DESCRIPTION:
Sh'vat or Shevat is the fifth month of the civil year and the eleventh month of the ecclesiastical year on the Hebrew calendar.
The name Shevat comes from the Akkadian language used during the Babylonian captivity of the Hebrew people. The word's meaning in its original language is 'strike' and references the season's heavy rains.
