Summer Sun Safety Month traditionally occurs in August, the hottest month in the northern hemisphere.
During August, people are encouraged to practice sun safety by wearing sunscreen, avoiding burns, using ultra-violet (UV) protection sunglasses, and keeping hydrated.
Summer Sun Safety is about avoiding sunburns, guarding against heat stroke, dehydration, and other heat and light-related issues.
