DESCRIPTION:
International Donor Sabbath occurs every year and is organized by faith leaders in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and other faiths to raise awareness of the need to become organ and tissue donors to save lives.
Today, most faith communities support organ donation and its members' individual choices—many view donation as an act of compassion and generosity.
Since people often turn to their faith leaders for help when dealing with life and death issues, National Donor Sabbath allows faith communities to share their views and join in the conversation.
