Operation Santa Paws is a three-week event organized every December, from December 1 to December 24.
Promoted and run by various animal-related organizations (like http://www.hautedogs.org/ for example), it's a time to raise awareness about the countless homeless animals out there and encourage people to adopt a pet for their kids (or for themselves!) before or at Christmas.
