Non-profit My Stuff Bags created National Mend a Broken Heart month to call attention to children who have been abused and neglected. Often these children must be removed from their homes and end up in foster care or within the system. During National Mend a Broken Heart month, people are encouraged to volunteer at their local shelters and support children's mental health and safety programs.
