It is believed, and told through the Gospels, that King Herod ordered the killing of all newborn to two-year-old male babies in Bethlehem in an attempt to destroy Jesus Christ. Called the Slaughter of Innocents, it is believed up to 20 children lost their lives, though there is no mention of it in secular historical records of the time.
