Red Squirrel Week highlights the protection of the red squirrels native to the United Kingdom. Observe how these animals forage for food for the incoming winter season. The only squirrel native to the United Kingdom, the red squirrel's fur color is russet, its ears are tufted, and its tail twitches. The annual red squirrel count takes place this week with volunteers' assistance.
