On February 8, 1910, the Boy Scouts of America was founded by William D. Boyce, Ernest Thompson Seton, Daniel Carter Beard, and Lord Robert Baden-Powell.
Today over 3.5 million Americans participate in the Boy Scouts as either members or leaders, and scouting is known worldwide for teaching young men (and girls through Girl Scouts) skills and values through extraordinary experiences.
Scouting divisions include:
Cub Scouts ages seven to ten and a half years old
Boy Scouts ten and a half to 18
Venture Scouts for teens through 21 years of age
