DESCRIPTION:
National Pretzel Day in the U.S. celebrates the knotted bread snack known as the pretzel. Pretzels can be traced back to Europe in 610 AD. The modern day pretzel is believed to have originated in Pennsylvania in the year 1850 by Julius Sturgis.
This event was first acknowledged in 1983 and made official in the state of Pennsylvania in 2003.
