Created in 2009, World Porridge Day is an annual fundraising initiative of Mary's Meals in Scotland. Its purpose is to raise money for food for children in developing countries.
Porridge is a national dish of Scotland. In addition to fundraising activities, an annual World Porridge Making Championship occurs in the village of Carrbridge.
