Pick Strawberries Day in the United States and Canada is promoted by the North American Strawberry Growers Association.
This campaign celebrates strawberries and honors the men and women that work tirelessly so that the rest of us can enjoy them. The day chosen occurs at the beginning of strawberry harvest season. Local growers will often hold family picking day to allow children to learn about harvesting and the process that goes into getting strawberries to the table. It also teaches an appreciation for the hard work that goes into simply getting the berry off the plant and on to your plate.
