The Oklahoma Land Race was held on September 16, 1893.
Otherwise known as the Land Run of 1893 or the Cherokee Strip Land Run, it would become the most extensive land run in United States history. More than 100,000 people participated, hoping to claim a parcel of land from the 6.5 million acres on offer.
