International Genocide Victims Day has the longest official name of any event in the calendar: International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and the Prevention of this Crime.
This day marks the anniversary of December 9, 1948, and the adoption of the Genocide Convention by the United Nations. The organization began observing this day in 2015.
