DESCRIPTION:
Nosso Senhor Do Bonfim Festival (Our Lord of the Happy Endings Festival) falls on the second Thursday after the Three Kings celebration (January 6). Considered one of the most colorful festivals in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, people gather at the Church of Conceição da Praia for a procession to Bonfim Church. Women wash the church steps and square with scented water. The complete celebration and ritual start today and continues for ten days. It is a celebration of devotion and a blessing for those participating in the procession.
