DESCRIPTION:
The Wianki Festival (Wreath Festival) is a Polish tradition from pre-Christian times featuring the floating of wreaths on the Wisla River in Krakow, Poland. It celebrates the summer solstice and honors Kupala, the goddess of love and the harvest.
Additional traditions during the festival include getting your fortune told, jumping bonfires, fireworks, and concerts. The event later became a part of the Christian celebration of Saint John's Night.
