The Global Initiative organizes World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day in mid-November for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD). This awareness campaign seeks to educate the public about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and how to improve the lives of those with it.
First held in 2002, each year has its unique focus with participating in events involving healthcare organizations, government agencies, and educators.
Free pulmonary check-ups may be available in your hometown. Check with your local healthcare provider for listings.
