DESCRIPTION:
French horticulturist Francis Meilland in the late 1930s, created the Peace Rose, a soft yellow hybrid tea rose with pink-tinged outer petals. France shared it with other countries during the year leading up to the Second World War to protect the rose.
Peace Rose Day marks the anniversary of the fall of Berlin, April 29, 1945. It was the end of Nazi Germany, and the war in Europe would finally end within the next ten days.
