National Take Down Tobacco Day (formerly Kick Butts Day) aims to educate and raise awareness of the hazards of tobacco and encourage youth to stay away from tobacco.
Quitting smoking for the day is the most common way to observe this day. Kick Butts Day was first held in 1996 and is sponsored by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
