DESCRIPTION:
Bun Day in Iceland is tied to the Christian observance of Lent and occurs on Shrove Monday prior to Ash Wednesday. Children wake up in the morning and get their parents out of bed. Over the previous few days the children prepared paddles, which they decorated. Legend says that for each spank of the paddle delivered to parents earns a cream filled bun.
