DESCRIPTION:
World Circus Day celebrates the traditional circus arts and presentations found throughout the world. Circuses have been a part of modern culture since the Roman Empire. The modern version with a big top came from 18th century France. In the 1970s, the circus moved more toward performance art, the most famous being Cirque de Sole. This event first ran in 2009.
