Celebrating the birth of American author Ernest Hemingway on July 21, 1899, is Hemingway Day. Hemingway is considered one of the foremost writers of the early 20th Century and is known for such works as "The Sun Also Rises," "A Farewell to Arms," and "For Whom the Bell Tolls." He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1954.
Hemingway committed suicide on July 2, 1961, following a long illness.
