National Pet ID Week has one sole purpose: to raise awareness about the importance of updating your pet's identification tags and microchips.
Each year tens of thousands of house pets go missing. Only 2% of cats and 15-20% of dogs, once lost, ever find their way home. Tagging your pet significantly improves the chances your pet will be returned.
Pet ID Week is supported by vets, pet stores and shelters throughout the country. Check with your local entities for specials and resources.
This event runs the 3rd week of April. You can also find it as a fixed date running 4/17-23 each year. We've been unable to verify who is behind those dates.
