DESCRIPTION:
Chef Caesar Cardini invented the Caesar Salad at his restaurant Ceasar's in Hollywood, California during Prohibition. This half Mexican and half Italian immigrant chose America as his home in his early 20s. The salad is known for its distinctive dressing which uses raw egg, lemon juice, Worcestershire Sauce, mustard and other ingredients. In 1948 he trademarked it.
Caesar Salad is one of the most popular salads in the world and continues to be on the menu worldwide. July 4th is celebrated as Caesar Salad Day in the United States each year.
