New Year's Day, or Enkutatash, is observed in Ethiopia and Eritrea.
The Ethiopian calendar is thirteen months in length. For Orthodox Christians, it is seven years earlier than the Gregorian Calendar (e.g., 2020 is 2013 in the religious calendar). For Coptic Christians, it is 284 years behind, coinciding with the date of amendment of the Roman Church calendar in 525 AD.
