National Candy Corn Day is celebrated in the U.S. It's a day to honor the traditional Halloween confection shaped like a kernel of corn, the candy corn.
The candy corn was invented during the 1880 by George Renninger at the Wunderle Candy Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA.
In 1898, Goelitz Confectionery Company of Germany began making them. This company was later acquired by Jelly Belly in the US. Candy Corns have been Halloween favorite for over a century, bringing joy (and work for dentists) ever since!
