October 30, 1935 Boeing Model 299 Flying Fortress, NX13372 took off on its initial run. It crashed right after takeoff, stalling first. Three of the men on board escaped the crash. Due to this accident, the pre-flight checklist was developed and is now used prior to any plane taking off, whether private, military or commercial.
