Homemade Bread Day encourages people to take a crack at making their own bread. Bread-baking coincides with the rise of agriculture and the dawn of the civilized world. Recently, scientists believe the art of mixing flour with liquids and baking it, even predating yeast and soda, goes back as far as 30,000 years. The first commercial production of bread using yeast dates to Egypt 300 BC.

Peace Day, World: November 17

On November 17 each year, drive with your headlights on as a public demonstration for peace, and think about peace as you go through your daily activities. Fold some origami cranes (instructions here: http://www.peaceday.org) and place them around your city. They say if you fold 1000 cranes you will be granted your wish. Lets fold a couple of million cranes and wish for world peace. I want you to start hanging origami cranes around in the public. Lets make it so people will see them in shopping malls and in parks, hang a crane in your office. Lets make it so everyone gets a chance to be reminded about peace. Inform your friends about it so when people see a crane, someone will be able to explain it to them that it is a movement for peace and get them started folding and displaying their own. It will be interesting to see how long it will be before I start seeing cranes that other people have folded. Hanging from street signs as I am driving around. Just put them in visible locations. The National Premmie Foundation in Australia, the March of Dimes and other nation specific organizations and NGOs promote and sponsor World Prematurity Day each year seeking to raise awareness about the dangers of preterm birth. Preterm or premature birth is the world's number one killer of babies and young children, accounting for nearly million deaths per year worldwide. Even if the child survives, being born prematurely can result in lifelong health issues including cerebral palsy, vision and hearing loss and mental impairment.

Latin Grammy Awards: November 18

Latin Grammy Awards is an event usually held in November. Sponsored by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, this event highlights the works and achievements in the Latin music industry performed in Spanish and Portuguese. Selections and nominations are made by members of the Latin music industry. Conceived in 1989, the event was founded by Michael Greene, Rudy Perez and Mauricio Abaroa to represent the broad diversity of Latin music. The first Latin Grammy Award took place at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, California on September 13, 2000. The actual date of this event is not announced until a couple months out from the event. Date is estimated. Check with event website for updates. Because this is televised, the actual announced date may change at the last minute.
