In the Northern Hemisphere it is dark, cold often uneventful, (except for football championships). This can leave people lonely. Celebration of Life Month seeks to remind people of all the things in their life that make it worth celebrating, whether your health or appreciating your children, grandchildren and spouse.

National Radon Action Month raises awareness about the radioactive gas that occurs naturally in the environment and causes serious health problems to those exposed. Radon comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements. Test kits and public awareness campaigns are made available throughout the country via the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and supporting organizations.

For every 1,000 cards, a tree will be planted. You can take part of this event by handing in your old Christmas cards to any participating Marks & Spencer branch. Woodland Trust aims to preserve the British woodland so to preserve the numerous species indigenous to the United Kingdom and reduce carbon dioxide in the air.
