Nisan, sometimes spelled Nissan, is the first month of the ecclesiastical year and the seventh month (eighth, in a leap year) of the civil year within the Jewish faith. It is also the month in which Passover occurs, and it is known as the Month of Renewal.
According to the Talmud, the three Patriarchs of The Book based faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), Abraham (1813-1638 BCE), Isaac (1713-1533 BCE), and Jacob (1653-1506 BCE), were all born and later died during the month of Nisan.
PLEASE NOTE:
All Hebrew calendar months and celebrations begin and end at sundown. LEEP Calendar marks Jewish months and events on their first full day. Observant people of the faith will observe the beginning at sunset the day prior.
