Nonbinary or Queer Pride Day honors the birthday of performance artist and gender theorist Katherine Vandam Bornstein, born March 15, 1948. Bornstein, a leader in the LGBTQ+ community, self-declared as gender non-conforming or queer in 1986. Non-conformists do not believe or see themselves as male or female but somewhere in-between, irrespective of biology.
