Also known as the Double Third Festival, it's an ancient Chinese celebration during which people picnic, harvest orchids, and commune with family. It's a day for going into cleansing rituals that aim to prevent disease and bad luck. In Korea, this day is called Samjinnal or Sangsa, and the Japanese refer to this day as Hinamatsuri.
