About Maternal Mental Health Week

DESCRIPTION:
Maternal mental health disorders occur during pregnancy and up to one year postpartum. They can be mild or severe, including deep depression and anxiety, a less common but severe postpartum psychosis, which affects less than 0.5 percent of women and is always considered a medical emergency.
Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week intends to expand awareness of and the conversation about these treatable complications surrounding pregnancy. Annually the first seven days of May.
