DESCRIPTION:
WHO‘s Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer as a public health problem was launched on November 17, 2020, and outlines three ambitious targets to be achieved over the next decade, including
90% of girls getting vaccinated against HPV.
70% of women screened for pre-cancerous lesions.
90% provide access to treatment and palliative care.
Together, these measures could reduce new disease cases by more than 40% and prevent five million related deaths by 2050.
