World Diabetes Day seeks to raise awareness about diabetes.
World Diabetes Day marks the birthday of Frederick Banting in 1891. Banting, in association with Charles Best and John James Rickard Macleod, conceived the idea of the discovery of insulin in 1922.
During World Diabetes Day, people participate in sports, poster campaigns, monument lighting, press conferences, and runs. There are also television appearances, diabetes workshops, and exhibitions.
