Homemade Bread Day encourages people to take a crack at making their bread. Bread-baking coincides with the rise of agriculture and the dawn of the civilized world. Recently, scientists believe the art of mixing flour with liquids and baking it, even predating yeast and soda, goes back 30,000 years. The first commercial production of bread using yeast dates to Egypt in 300 BC.
