National Apple Dumpling Day highlights the pastry made of sliced apples which can be deep fried or baked and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.
The apple dumpling is believed to have originated in the northeastern United States and is revered within the Amish community. This occasion is celebrated by cooking a version of the apple dumpling or buying one from a bakery.
