DESCRIPTION:
Summer Sun Safety Month traditionally occurs in August, the hottest month of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
During this month people are encouraged to practice sun safety by wearing sunscreen, avoiding burns, using UV protection sunglasses and keeping hydrated.
Summer Sun Safety isn't just about sunburns. It's also about guarding against heat stroke and other issues that come from too much exposure to sunshine and heat.
This event does not have an official sponsor but is observed by thousands of organizations worldwide.
