National Etiquette Week came about in 1997 to improve civility in our society and revisit the customs and traditions that define us.
Etiquette has become somewhat of a lost art in the United States. Often considered a set of rules, etiquette is really about the golden rule: do unto others and you’d have done to you. It is about treating people with respect, observing boundaries and having a set of protocols to use in unfamiliar situations.
This day is an opportunity to learn new processes of etiquette and try them out on your family, friends, strangers and co-workers.
