Noodle Day is a celebration of the life and work of Franco-American author Raymond Federman (May 15, 1928 – October 6, 2009). In his book, "Double or Nothing," he frequently referred to noodles in analogies. He was a beloved writer, teacher, and wordsmith, and his fans created this day.
Federman was the sort of person who avoided the conventional opening sentence and would probably hate a conventional eulogy. As an author, his work was called "experimental fiction," "surfiction," "metafiction," and optimistic. Federman was fond of calling it "playgerism." His sense of play led to an inspired Noodle Day.
That rhymed, but it was an accident.
