Having a baby is stressful for both parents. Twenty percent of mothers and ten percent of fathers experience anxiety and depression following birth and within the first year. It is a severe illness that often goes ignored. Perinatal Depression and Anxiety Awareness Week seeks to mitigate the suffering in silence and make new parents and their families aware of resources available to them and an emergency helpline.
