International Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Week is a grassroots effort by the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy in:
1) Identifying—supporting, and sharing promising DMD-related research;
2) Creating—up-to-date information about treatment and care options available to all members of the DMD community;
3) Pursuing—strategies that will impact this generation of young men affected by DMD as well as future generations;
4) Encouraging—policymakers to afford the same priority to DMD as they would to other disorders of similar incidence and prevalence;
5) Creating—a supportive community for people affected by DMD;
6) Participating—actively in the international DMD community;
7) Ensuring—PPMD is managed, developed, and funded in a manner consistent with nonprofit industry best practices.
