DESCRIPTION:
Maha Shivratri is a Hindu observance related to Lord Shiva celebrated on the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi during the month of Magha. Maha Shivratri marks the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Parvati.
Devotees worship Lord Shiva and offer the god bel leaves (bel Patra), Dhatura, Bhang, milk, and water with flowers.
Devotees observe all-day fasting, and devotees chant "Om Namah Shivaya," the sacred mantra of Shiva.
