DESCRIPTION:
While the gingerbread house is most popular during Christmas, different types of gingerbread can still be enjoyed rest of the year.
Gingerbread is often mixed with honey and molasses (treacle) and made into bread or biscuit. In the past, the term gingerbread referred only to preserved ginger. Later it evolved into what it is today.
Ginger has a number of health benefits, including a calming effect on an upset stomach. Ginger cookies are a great, healthy edition to afternoon tea or any other meal.
